The ASCA Focused Group class is to support TCA students in preparation to join ASCA Exam.

• We encourage our students to speak to coaches(if they are already enrolled in our classes) regarding the projects/topics they are choosing. Or even give us a call so we can support them over the phone regarding the topics you are choosing.
• Discuss topics/books you are choosing to ensure they are of interest to you (therefore you may speak about them more in-depth.
• Ensure material related is at your child's school class level - not too easy or too difficult
• Gather sufficient information - online, in encyclopedias, and watch videos about the topic. 
• Next, brainstorm your talk and then you can plan the structure of the introduction, body, and conclusion.
• Initially write (or type) your talk so that you are happy with the content. Then highlight the important topics and practice with family or set a time with a coach to some time in class for the memorized section/s. 
• Use palm cards and practice. You will feel a lot more confident once you have practiced your topics. The palm cards should fit comfortably in one hand and move with you.
• The examiner is looking to see that the memorised own-choice presentation is off the book; and that you are not just speaking an essay!
• Focus on things like eye contact and body language.
