This online, interactive workshop is all about creativity in writing! It is a wonderful opportunity to harness imagination without boundaries in a fun, safe and collaborative environment.

It improves their ability develop and understand multiple insightful perspectives on people, places and issues.

Creative writing entails more than forming one sentence after another. It fosters imagination and inspires children to have fun with writing. By expressing themselves in ways that are creative and compelling, they learn how to intrigue, excite and inspire their readers and their peers.

Creative writing is not only a means to help students unleash their creative side and feel more comfortable when writing in and about everyday life, but has also been proven to improve language learning.

Skills that will be developed in this workshop are:

Imagination and Creativity - children will be asked to enter their wildest dreams and imaginations, describe their surroundings, create interesting and diverse characters, using words to express their creativity.

Self-Expression - children often have difficulty understanding and expressing how they feel. Through writing, we are offered a safe place to explore, and this can be a highly beneficial tool for expressing identity and sense of self.

Self-Confidence - writing gives children the opportunity to assert themselves and their opinions, and develop their “voice.” These developments can strengthen their confidence and self-esteem!

Literary skills - in this workshop children will also learn the basic literary tools to express creative ideas, such as simile, rhyme, metaphor, imagery, alliteration and onomatopoeia.

A child who is an eloquent writer and communicator will have an advantage in any field – in school and in life.
